The first Hallmark movie to be purchased in a Hallmark store was a little-known one: “Hallmark’s Great Escape.”
The film, released in 1990, is not the first movie to have been purchased in Hallmark’s stores.
In 1988, “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” was purchased at a Macy’s in Bloomington, Ill.
The movie, which was filmed in New York City and features the characters of Tom Cruise and Susan Sarandon, was later released in the United Kingdom.
In 2009, “Titanic” was bought in a Target store in the Philadelphia suburb of Lehigh Valley.
And in 2016, “Hannah Montana: The Movie” was released in Hallmarks stores in Kansas City, Mo., and Louisville, Ky.
