Italia’s Azzuri are in for a fight as they travel to face Sassuolo in the Europa League quarter-finals.
Roma are still without a win in the competition since winning it back in 2012 and they are looking to avoid a repeat of the nightmare they endured at the hands of Sassuola in the group stage.
Romas coach Roberto Mancini said: “The situation is a bit complicated, and the game is only two games.”
But we have to accept that we have two important games to play and the last game is a derby.
“It will be a hard-fought game but we are not scared of anything.”
Sassuolo are one point off the top of the Serie A table, with seven games remaining, and they must win both to get into the quarter-final.
The Giallorossi are on the back foot in Italy’s Serie A and are currently on the road to the last 16 of the Champions League, after dropping two matches in a row.
Mancini added: “It will take some time but we must be patient.
They have been in a bit of trouble for some time, but we have the best players in the world.”
Mancino, who has led Sassuol to the top four of the Coppa Italia in three of the last four seasons, has already seen his side win the Europa league in each of the past three seasons.
“They are the best team in the division, so we have no doubts in our mind that we will have a good performance here,” he added.
“We will try to win this game in a very difficult atmosphere.
We are all excited about it.”
If we can manage to win a penalty and score again, it will give us a bit more momentum going into the game.
