A month ago today, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released and with the movie’s first trailer now out, many fans were eager to see how the titular character would return to his old self.
But according to a new report, that time may not be so soon.
According to Batman writer Geoff Johns, Batman may be dead at the end of the film.
In a Facebook post today, Johns announced that the Batman Beyond film will be the last time we see Batman.
“I’ve got a feeling that he’s gone,” Johns wrote.
“So, to give us some time to get to know each other a little better before he does come back, I’m bringing you this news.
No more Batman.
It’s time to move on.
We’re not coming back, and you’re not going to be either.
This is the end.
And we can’t wait to see it.”
A day later, The Wrap confirmed that Johns was correct.
Johns wrote, “The last Batman will be in the future, but this one won’t be Batman.
And he won’t come back.
It won’t happen, it will just be us.”
Jeph Loeb, who directed the film, confirmed the news in an interview with MTV News.
“It’s very hard to keep Batman alive, but we always knew he would,” Loeb said.
“But I think it’s also important for people to know that he is alive.
I think he’s a little more dangerous than we think he is.
He’s a very dangerous guy.”
This is not the first time the Batman movie has been the subject of rumor.
Back in 2016, rumors swirled that the Caped Crusader would be returning in Justice League.
This time around, Loeb and Johns are saying the character will be gone.
“He’s done,” Loeber said of Batman.
“He’s got his cape.
He has his cape, but he’s not in it anymore.
I don’t know what happened to him.
It was very interesting to see.”
Joker is currently in the middle of a new comic book series that is set to launch this summer.
It follows the Joker and his criminal associates in Gotham City.
As part of the new storyline, the Joker will have a new identity, and will have to re-enter the world.
