Posted February 05, 2018 06:10:06 The new trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron features a brutal death scene and an all-new villain, and it’s likely you’ve seen it already.
In case you haven’t, here’s the trailer: The scene where Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) goes to confront Ultron is one of the most iconic in the franchise, but its inclusion is especially jarring considering it’s the one scene that’s been cut from the film.
In a recent interview with EW, the director Joss Whedon confirmed that the scene had been cut, but added that he had been told that they were going to make the cut because of the film’s release date.
Whedon did say that he wasn’t sure why, but it certainly feels like a big omission to fans of the movie.
“I don’t know what’s happening, but I’m not going to go into it,” he said.
“It’s a big moment, so I’ll see what I can do.”
In the same interview, Whedon also revealed that he didn’t plan to use the footage from the scene to show off his new movie, as he was trying to make it look like he was getting more involved with the film than it was.
Whedon explained that he used it to show the audience that he was “very excited” about the movie, but that he would be doing his best to stay away from spoilers.
“If I want to show up and say something, I’m going to tell the truth and be as honest as possible, because I have a lot of faith in this team, and I think this movie has a lot to do with that,” he told EW.
“So I’m very, very, excited, and, I guess, at the same time, a little nervous, because the whole thing, I’ve never done anything like this.
It’s a whole new experience.”
The Avengers: The Age Of Universal, a collaboration between Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, will hit theaters on May 1, 2019.
