Reddit’s movie movie forum has gone from a place for fanboys to the site’s largest movie forum ever.
For the past few years, the subreddit’s members have been getting together and sharing their thoughts on the latest movies and TV shows.
The forum was launched last year, but the first batch of films were uploaded in late 2015, and have since attracted more than 15,000 subscribers, according to the movie forum’s founder and CEO, Mike Yost.
Yost, who is also the director of the new Interstellar movie, told the Huffington Post that the subreddit was originally meant to help the community better understand what movies were going on in the wider world, but over time, he said, the group became more interested in sharing what made them special.
“There are a lot of movies that we can’t see,” Yost said.
“It’s hard to explain what makes a movie so special, or why it’s so cool.
We wanted to give a place to people who are passionate about their favorite films, but who also share the excitement of watching it.
The more of these movies we share, the more we get to understand the movies we love.”
The site has grown so much that it now has a team of six moderators and more than 400,000 registered users.
The community’s subreddit features a rotating roster of more than 100 movies, including many from other franchises such as Star Trek and Star Wars.
The subreddit is currently the largest of its kind, Yost told HuffPost, with more than 11,000 members.
The first batch to be uploaded were the films from Warner Bros. and Paramount, including the blockbuster Wonder Woman, which has been dubbed “the most powerful movie of the year.”
But now the movie forums are adding some more titles to the list of things that make movies special.
The subreddit has even become a hub for some of the world’s greatest movie fans.
The forum has featured several members from the Reddit community’s original home, /r/indie, including former MTV Music Editor/Producer Josh Laughlin and his band, the Wrecking Crew, which recently released a new album, “The Black Album.”
The group’s song “Hip Hop and Rock” also made the front page of Reddit last week, prompting a flurry of conversation.
“We’re excited about it,” Yowson told HuffPost.
“There’s so much going on that it’s hard for me to tell you how many times people have said, ‘Yeah, I want to be a part of this,’ or ‘Yeah I want them to put my music on their albums.'”
A group of Redditors shared a video on the subreddit last year featuring the band playing a song from the soundtrack to the upcoming Marvel film Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The video also showed the members of the group at a recent meetup in the San Francisco Bay Area, and they even wore a shirt emblazoned with a giant Thor logo to the event.
The group has also had a bit of a run in the past year, with the movie The Avengers: Infinity War coming out earlier this year, and Yost’s new film Interstellar starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Tom Hiddleston is also set for release next year.
In addition to the movies, the forum has also received a lot more submissions to its “best movies of the 90’s” section, including The Godfather Part III, which was the first movie to be made by director Roman Polanski.
Polanski’s movie also won the top spot on Reddit’s “best sci-fi films of the decade” list.
